EENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS - ISO 50001

Increasing attention to more efficient energy management, to contain waste and optimize consumption, has led to the establishment of numerous standards at national and international level. The international standard ISO50001 is the new international standard for energy management that provides the guidelines needed to be in line with the requirements for CO2 emission reduction.

The Energy Management System offers a systematic approach to monitoring and reducing energy consumption in any type of business. The standard requires energy efficiency promotion to be considered along the whole chain of distribution of the organization and, important innovation, it is a requirement that it requires from its suppliers.

Based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, ISO 50001 sets a number of energy policy enforcement requirements with the aim of reducing and controlling energy consumption, checking savings and plan improvements on an ongoing basis.
